The Importance of Cell Groups

They’re a form of church organizations where we can have an intimate personal growth with our brothers and sisters.
This term ‘cell’ is derived from biology. Cells make up the minutest structure of anybody. It can be of around 15 people and we organise it in a church member’s house. Most members who are afraid to share the word of God can gain their confidence in such gatherings.
We will all be asked by God what we’ve done for Christ and this is a good place to start from. You start to grow and get rooted in the word of His kingdom. There are many lost souls out there going through issues and problems, so this is a good place to start. In such a place you can open up and share what each one is going through and believe God for the testimonies.
Life is not just about our jobs and our families but also sharing with others what He’s done for us.
If you say that Christianity is draining all your energy, then you’re practicing religion and not having a personal relationship with Him. It is in our faith that we find strength and refreshment.
God expects us to seek first the kingdom of God and all the rest shall follow you.
Matthew 6:33
Cells become a family for many people away from home. Your testimonies shared can turn someone else’s life around.
Points why every Christian should be part of a cell group:
- We’re called to share the gospel to all the ends of the world and make disciples.
Matthew 28:16-20
Matthew 18:18-20
Let’s examine ourselves if we’re being good disciples of Christ.
- To reach out to the lost. The cell helps us to set this up practically.
- The cell groups help to nurture new believers in the word of God. If this doesn’t happen or people are not followed up, there are more chances of people backsliding. The world is also always attractive to any new believer.
Matthew 16:24
If we’re on the verge of sin or temptation, let’s look at the cross. In the cell we’re not alone, we have people who are trained and are close to church in the word of God. We don’t just go to church, we’re the church!
It’s an opportunity to love, admonish and practically be there for one another.
- Fulfil your ministry. We all have talents and gifts that we by the power of the Holy Spirit can identify and practice them. With time we can develop them for God’s glory.
5. To become fruitful.
John 15:5-16
In a cell, we begin to enter and enjoy the joy of fruitfulness. This is the fruit of walking in the ways of God.
