The Condition of Our Hearts

The direction of our lives is determined by the condition of our hearts.
We need to ask ourselves if we are walking with God or are we walking with the pleasures of this world? Determine which path you’re taking as it may either end in destruction or life.
Luke 15:11 onwards depicts the story if the prodigal son.
We need to mark two keywords:
- a) Distant country
- b) Coming to his senses.
This chapter also talks about three characters;
- A sinful young brother.
- A forgiving father.
- An unforgiving brother.
Whatever God has said from Genesis to Revelation is true.
So when this boy goes to a distant country, it is the same as us trying to get away from the will of God. There are so many things that we end up chasing after that are just the pleasures of this world. That’s what Satan loves to do against us but we should be wise and keep away from all these.
The devil lies to one that there’s so much pleasure in the world yet there’s a time one gets tired.
There came a famine that affected the whole world. We have to be very careful that the devil doesn’t get us off track away from God and time in His presence.
Here was a young Jewish boy who lost his status in society and finds himself so lost.
The Holy Spirit keeps working and reminding us of the way to go as we see in this story that the young man came to his senses.
The devil tries to blind us to sin.
What this story reminds us is that the Heavenly Father is ready to forgive us. This was when the truth dawns on him to get back home.
This guy decides to go back to his father only to find the father eagerly waiting for him!
His father hugs him, puts on him a new robe, a ring and sandals for his feet and throws a feast for him. Our father is overjoyed when a lost sold returns to the Kingdom of Heaven, no matter the sins committed, we are washed clean and all the sins are forgotten.
Our father is waiting for us back home at all times no matter what we’ve done! Once we confess he’s ready to forgive and wash us clean.
Romans 6:23
We have to be careful the circle of friends that we keep so we don’t end up being drawn to the things of this world.
Romans 5:5- Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
All Glory to God.
