Praise & Worship – The Remnant – Adonai – 24th May 2019

Praise the Lord! “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.” Psalms 118:26 As Jesus entered Jerusalem for that last Passover feast, Psalm 118 would have been on worshipers’ minds as a homecoming parade begins at the city gates. By verse 26, the parade makes its way to the temple, from which they call down a blessing on the returning, conquering King. And that parade climaxes with the offering of a sacrifice at the feast, a substitute for everyone. God is building His righteous up around the cornerstone of their King (v. 22-24), and the Lamb must be sacrificed in their place so they can sing and shout, “You are my God…You are my God” (v. 28).
Jesus Himself becomes a sacrifice so that you and I can rejoice in the day the Lord made, our King must die. His distress brought you and I a song. He died, so you and I could live. He was disciplined, so you and I could become sons and daughters of the Most High God. As we come together with our offering, remember our God turned every distress into a song, He didn’t hold back anything, including Himself.
So let’s not hold back as we sing and rejoice in our King who became our sin, so we could have His salvation.
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord Adonai! “Baruch Haba B’shem”!
God bless!
