Praise & Worship for 15th November 2019

“Then Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.
And when he went in to his wife, she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name
Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house.

Rephah was his son, as well as Resheph, and Telah his son, Tahan his son, Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son, Nun his son, and Joshua his son.” 1 Chronicles 7:22, 23, 24, 26, 27

Verses concerning genealogy can throw you off completely right, but there was something that caught my attention here that I wish to share with you all ahead of the worship tonight.
Ephraim was the younger of Joseph’s sons, and was blessed at the hands of his grandfather Jacob, saying that the younger brother shall be greater, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.
There was a great promise over Ephraim’s life, but as life happened, his two sons were taken away from him in a turf war. Scripture says he mourned them for a long time, so inconsolably, that his relatives had to come down to comfort him.
Understandably, as we would have all have thought, what promise of nations would we have when our offspring have been taken away from us? The exact point in life where we need to trust the sovereignty of our God.
When Ephraim came out of his mourning, God restores him with a son and Ephraim gives him a name out of his bitterness, just as we all, time and again, take our God, and His restoration in us, for granted, and other times without foresight.
Out of the bitterness and brokenness, a promise-keeping God brings out a generation. A generation from which is born Israel’s first Commander General, the one who was chosen by God to take on a mantle of great responsibility and honor, the successor to Moses, the fighting leader of Israel, the man who parted the Jordan, an executor of God’s strategies, a determined warrior who lead Israel into God’s promised land – Joshua, Ephraim’s great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandson.
What a grand expression of Love, as our God always does. 8 generations later, Ephraim wasn’t around to see it, but he surely will one day along with us. Such is the faithfulness of God, His promises are given to us and our generations, and our God does not forget, and He is not a man to lie.
Trust in the Lord as we lift up our hearts, hands and lives to worship Him, He is forever on the throne, worthy to be praised, and holds us and our future in His hands. Let Him do what He does with us, refine us, and let Him author our beautiful story of life, and let it be known to our God that all the while we were only singing His praises!
Remember each other in prayers and come with your friends & family this Friday @ 5:30pm onwards on 15th November 2019 as we gladly bow our knees to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ Our Saviour.
God Bless you all!
