Carrying the Presence of God

There are many of us asking God why we seem neglected or not seemingly top in the high places of society. Ask yourself one question: ‘Are you willing to carry God’s presence? Is God’s presence enough for you?
When God created human beings in Genesis, he created us to have a journey of fellowship with Him. Even though God is craving for worship and has 24/7 worship going on in heaven, he still wanted us to have a continuous communication and fellowship with Him: that we would carry His presence everywhere on this earth! God was always on time to be there for fellowship daily with a man. Counting on from Adam to the time of Abraham. Abraham’s family background wasn’t that ‘holy’; they used to worship idols and other gods and they were actually gentiles. How much more us who are already children of God?
- Many times God isn’t answering our prayers because we aren’t living right lives. See how God will move when you’re living right with Him.
- God loved the kind of life and fellowship with Enoch that He decided to take him to be with Him. The same thing happens with Elijah who also never died.
There was also Moses whom God used to commune with.
Exodus 33:12-15
- When you exercise/experience God’s presence, you’ll have rest!
Moses was concerned because He knew His weakness: there are three people who know your weakness that’s God, yourself and the defeated Devil. Your weakness is enough for God to make you stand. He knows how to use us when we are weak and His favour and grace shall go with us. Many times we pray for these weaknesses to be taken away but with His favour and grace, everything shall be well! Even if things don’t seem to be there, He will take us to that destiny that He prepared for you.
- Let’s not pray for riches or anything but for God’s presence. Because if God’s presence doesn’t go with us, we won’t Go. Let’s declare that all we need is the Lord’s presence because we are His temples.
Today may you stand to declare that you will exercise the presence of God every day of your life.
- God says never to take decisions based on our emotions or feelings but let’s learn to take the presence of God as the most important thing to base on.
In the Old Testament and today, so many people paid s heavy price to carry the presence of God but thank God that now we’re the carriers of God’s presence. Look at the young man Joshua who had the thirst to understand the way Moses communicated to God and he paid a price to sit down and serve Moses. Later he was able to command the sun and moon to stand still with this authority that He’d exercised after being in God’s presence. Later he was able to lead God’s people to the promised land.
Even the man David who was a Shepherd. He was a forgotten young man, always ragged and smelly as a Shepherd because he was always in the wild with the sheep. But he had one desire that even when he was alone he’d sing unto the Lord: even when we are here alone, shall we also sing to the Lord in truth and spirit and God’s own eye shall be on us. Rise up and be a real worshiper wherever you are, whether alone and dejected but you shall be next in line appointed by God because you are a worshipper who carries God’s presence. “Next is you”, thus says the Spirit of the Lord!
If you want God’s eye to be on you, just start worshipping and even if you’re in the deep wilderness, He’s ready to receive your worship. He’ll lift you up above those more educated or privileged than you because His eye is on you. The time is coming and God will uplift you to the position He’s meant for you.
Look at Solomon who is chosen by God to build the temple of God: every detail was to the exact plan That God had given to them. So Solomon prepared it according to that same details. Even with the whole structure ready, Solomon desired that God dwells in and with him. It’s not just serving God and doing activities but let’s desire to also carry God’s presence as we do this. That’s how we see the temple filled with God’s glory that day that the priests couldn’t serve! What glory!
Elijah was a prophet called of God in His time with even a school of prophets. This man one day called the Fire of God down to consume the sacrifice. He carried the presence of God and it consumed the sacrifice that everyone will see it around you.
When God is about to bring a miracle, he’s gonna do it so even those around you shall testify to the same.
In all you do, have you brought a remark to the kingdom of God? We need to know the value of God’s presence.
Psalms 51:1
Whatever sin David had done, he knew that God’s presence would depart but he repented and pleaded with God not to take it away.
Do not boast of having a good background of a family that’s godly or Christian, we still need to have a personal relationship and to carry God’s presence.
Three things to note
- Condition of God’s presence.
- a) Holiness: God’s presence just won’t come anywhere. We may be living in His grace but His holiness cannot be changed.
Many churches and institutions are compromising God for the sake of numbers or people but God doesn’t compromise. God cannot come to a place that is not holy.
He is a holy God: it means He is Separate.
Exodus 15:11
1 Samuel 2:2
God is majestic in His Holiness!
The condition of God’s presence is about His Holiness.
Psalms 86:8-10
Daily we tend to want God to be our doctor, financial controller or someone who just does ‘magic’ at our Beck and call but He’s above all things! He is beyond all that! He cannot be compared to anyone as He alone is God!
If we want to carry His presence, let’s be holy.
There are many terminologies we use to define God like healer, loving, merciful, glorious etc but only one word was ever repeated: It is that He is ‘Holy, Holy, Holy!’
Where God’s praise is, he dwells there. Some people come to church and say nothing. They claim God will just do some work in their Hearts but God desires that those praises in our hearts should come out of our mouths in Praise! Let’s worship the Lord. For us worshipping God is not a choice like going to work or so but carrying God’s presence isn’t a choice.
Psalms 100:1-3
2 Chronicles 20:19
Sometimes we may not have the strength to fight a battle but once we worship God, the battle is won.
There’s another battle in the New Testament when Paul and Silas were arrested but once they began to worship the chains and bonds broke. God is about to take over the battle.
- b) Praises are important in the condition of God’s presence.
1. c)Where The word of God dwells, it’s a condition of God’s presence. 1 Kings 8:9-11
When you carry God’s word, it’s enough to carry God’s presence. God’s word penetrates offices, distance and anything to unravel God’s power. Take God’s word and he’ll do mighty things in your life.
Hebrews 4:12&13
- The character of God’s presence
Gen 3:8
Whatever displeases God, let’s turn away from it. How long shall we play with God’s grace? If any find themselves in sin, how I wish they’d repent and run to God instead of running away! Can we be like Peter who returned to God, unlike Judas who ran and hid to his destruction?
God is ready to take us back. Sin likes to break up the presence of God but God’s grace has brought back God’s presence.
- a) God’s presence is personal.
- b) God’s presence is practical.
- c) Gods presence is powerful.
John 15:4-5
Unless we abide with him, we can not bear fruit. If we are not connected we won’t bear fruit. We have to practically be connected to him and once we’re practically connected, we shall be exposed publicly. It should come.
For Joseph, Daniel and his friends, God’s presence practically came upon them and got them out of wells, dungeons etc.
Ephesians 3:15-17
Whatever we do is by God’s power. We shouldn’t boast of what we have done by His power.
- The capacity of God’s presence
Genesis 1:1
God’s presence has the power to create something from Nothing. It has the capacity to create.
If you feel something is impossible in your life, remember God can create something from nothing. He says He can still do it.
- a) His capacity in His creation.
- b) His capacity in His Restoration.
- c) His capacity in His protection.
- d) His capacity in His impartation.
He restores with His capacity
In John 15 the prodigal son is restored.
Let’s desire to carry God’s presence with such an impartation that just our presence with people it shall minister to people and comfort and encourage them.
If an earthly husband can have a commitment to a wife who is incapacitated, what about our Heavenly Father to us?
What you need now is not riches or prayer but carrying God’s presence is all you need!
Praise the Lord !
