Praise & Worship – When Death Was Arrested , My Life Began – The Remnant (Live) – 12th July 2019

“He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 25:8 It was prophesied that the Savior will come, that He will swallow up, lock-in and arrest death, for all time, the physical and spiritual death that is imminent to all mankind; that this Savior would remove the reproach, the disappointment, shame and disapproval in us; whatever it is that makes us cry, this Savior will remove it forever, and wipe away our tears with the hands of the Father.

The mouth of the Lord spoke 700+ years before the birth of the Savior, the mouth of He who is faithful to finish what He started, to fulfil what He spoke. At the cross, in the most unexpected turnouts for the protagonist, when Jesus died, all creation thought it finished. Sure He swallowed up death as was prophesied – and darkness prevailed during the silence. “From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.”

Mark 15:33 From the beginning, He was with the Father, and in this darkest hour, He was separated from the eternal Love, no one to wipe His tear, no one to look at Him. Once and for all He did it so that you and I don’t need to endure this heartbreak, this painful separation from Love. But we don’t sing because of this Love that died for us. We sing, with a mad noise to wake up the dead, because of the victory that followed, the light that broke through the darkness, the glorious day that dawned upon all creation, Jesus did as He promised, He rose again, we sing and dance because of this kind of Love. Check-mate, Death.

So if He died when He said He would, and is the only one in all human history to also rise when He said He would, we are listening closely to His truthful words. He said we are free, He died so we can live as free men and women, never again bonded by sin, slavery or any human being, He said a Friend will come to us, He said there will be hard days, and that He will never leave our side and will crush anyone who lifts their eyes against you, that He has made all things new and that we will join with Him unto eternity, we believe, we believe all of it, and we sing and sing of this truth, and we live this truth powerfully.

When He finished it on the cross, that’s when our real lives began. So sing, rejoice, let the roar be heard in the enemy camps, let them fear the coming of praise, the Free are headed in their direction. We’re free, free, forever free, welcome the people to join in the song of the redeemed! Let the people know that the Resurrection has come for them!
