The church at Philadelphia, one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book Revelation; God found this church to be perfect.

Our prayer is that our church shall be like this church that was praised and was an exemplary one. This was the youngest and smallest of all the cities at that time in comparison with the other cities to which letters were written.

There are two perspectives to the text:

1. Practical perspective. The then existing church at that moment.

2. The prophetic perspective of a church(es) to come.

3. A personal perspective.

A message to those on a high call

Judges 6:11-24

This is a night where God is gonna speak personally to us all! Gideon was called as a judge in a time where Israel was going through a tense period of suffering! Israel was impoverished! Even though they knew that God was with them and that they were God’s people, things just weren’t going that well!

The Lord always brings us all together for a purpose so that He can convey a message to us! The Lord sent a prophet to Israel as a solution! It is not that you’re too perfect or too worthy that God should come and help you: God is still able and He is going to do something mighty!

Even if you haven’t been living the holiest of lives, He still loves you! Before God sets or gives you a victory, he sends a messenger to you!

If your mind is not settled, you’ll not walk or experience what he wants for you; that’s why He wants to have your mind ready to receive. Always remember that the battle belongs to the Lord.

Amen.

“The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” ” Judges 6:14 To a fearful Gideon, performing an act of cowardice in the winepress, the Lord sent an angel proclaiming the news of favour, revival, of victory, and also does this strange thing of addressing him as a ‘mighty warrior’. Most often, when God’s call comes, we are at our worst and most pitiful state, our eligibility for anything good is nil, and we are worse than when we started.

But God calls us out by what He has purposed us to be, He who saw us being knit in the womb and sees us to the finish line of this life unto eternity, calls us out by the name He has given us, by the character that He has coded into us, the purpose that He has placed in us – He calls us mighty warriors. And while Gideon stood in shock and disbelief, as we mostly do, God reminds us, in order to silence this doubt, that He is the One who brought us up out of our Egypt, out of the land of slavery, that He rescued us from the hand of the Egyptians, and delivered us from the hand of all our oppressors; that He even made us witnesses as He drove troublemakers out before us and gave us their land. We didn’t even break a sweat for any of this.

As we come to worship tomorrow, let’s not forget even for one moment how we got here, and the goodness of the God who snatched us out of the hands of evil. Let’s remind the people of God that our God has called us and commissioned us.

We remind ourselves and the Church to turn our eyes away from looking to ourselves for a qualification we never possessed but turn those eyes upwards to the Risen King, who stood by us and brings all of Heaven down to fight for us, every time we call on His Name.

Praise be to God. As we are in the 14th week of open heavens, God promises us he will continue this blessing upon us until the end of July, God has promised us a season of outpouring. God calls all who are thirsty for his kingdom to come to him and he will Fill, Anoint, Bless and immerse us in the Holy Spirit, all we need to have is a thirst for him. Let us grab this opportunity and He is willing to fill us with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

We see in the Bible that when the Disciples of God were filled in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, they were filled with so much Joy the people thought they were drunk. The world seeks after wicked things for momentary happiness, but the one true joy that is going to bubble up and fill you whole is the Joy of God.

Let us be filled.

All Glory to God.Amen

The Jews were expecting a different kind of King born in a palace but Here was Jesus who was born from a lowly background and was therefore denied by them. Pilate and the Romans had no fault with Jesus but because of the pressure to keep his position with the people, he took a decision against him.

Did you notice that Jesus’ life could not be faulted by anyone in any way? This is the same way we should let our lives shine in a holy manner before God and before Men.In this place, Pilate sins by sentencing an innocent man because of wanting to keep a world position!

There are 3 scenes in this portion of scripture and 2 of them are based on people and one is about a place.
