Experience the resurrected life in Jesus!

John 11: 25, 26
Jesus said to her “ I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this quote?

Jesus said this statement to Martha when her brother Lazarus who happens to be Jesus good friend, died. But this statement that Jesus spoke meant more than just physical death.

Because Martha believed in the resurrection. She said in vs 27 “ Yes Lord I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.

Jesus said He is the resurrection. We can understand 2 things here.

1) Resurrection is possible only if you believe in Jesus
2)whoever is in Jesus has been resurrected from the dead ( spiritual ) already!

How is this possible? The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “ For the wages of sin is death “ That means the whole world is dead already because all of us are sinners. There is not one man on planet earth who is not a sinner. Romans 3:10 says “There is none righteous, no not one “ and again in verses 23 it says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

But those who believe in Jesus have already been passed from death into life! John 5:24 confirms that!

Now, this life that Jesus mentions here is 2 lives. One is the physical death and the other is spiritual death. Jesus says that in Him we are alive, resurrected from the old life to the new and living in victory with Jesus !.

Now you will ask, are we resurrected? How?

We did not even die. Jesus died and rose again. But our death is yet to come. Wrong! Our death has already come with sin! And it was only after we believed in Jesus, surrendered our life to Him, baptized in water and His Spirit, we become born again!

We have been resurrected spiritually and bonded with our Father in heaven! And when we die physically, in His coming we will rise and join with Him because we have already been passed from death to life earlier.

Was Jesus resurrection a normal one ? or a supernatural one? It was supernatural and divine. And when He resurrected did He win over something ? or did He just rise because He told He will rise?

His death was supernatural and therefore our resurrection can only happen supernaturally and it cannot happen naturally.

It is His Holy Spirit that gives us a new life! No man can give you that.

When He resurrected, Jesus won the victory over death and the power of sin over our lives has been taken away. If He hadn’t risen, we would still be in the power of the devil and bonded to condemnation and death. Because the source of sin is the devil.

But since He has risen, Jesus has cancelled and taken away every bondage of sin and set us free and we are not captives of the
devil anymore!

In 1 Corinthians 15: 55 – 57 says “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Even our physical death does not have any victory over us.We live on victorious grounds just like Jesus is living on victorious grounds.

Romans 8:37 says we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Now the next thing to consider is how can we say we are living on victorious grounds when we are going through tribulations, trials, fear, anxiety etc..

Those things come to us to experience the resurrected Christ! Tell me how else can we experience the resurrected Christ! Why I say resurrected Christ because His words are alive just like how He is alive.

Many people can come and say a lot of positive and affirmative ways of living and thinking. But they die so their words die off with them….. They just remain as sayings…

But the words of Jesus has power !!!! that’s the difference !!! The words that Jesus spoke is not dead but is alive just like how Jesus is alive and Jesus says “ heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away “

So when we speak His words in the Bible, its got power! and the Bible says we are more than conquerors through Christ

( Romans 8: 37) which means we live on victorious grounds in a victorious life.

In John 16: 33 Jesus says These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.

In the world, you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

So we will go through tribulations and trials. We cannot escape that just because we are in Christ.

2 Timothy 3:12 says all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. And again in Acts 14:22 it says strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom ofGod.

”It does not limit to only persecution and tribulations but there are trials and anxieties and different kinds of fear. All that will come so that we can apply the word into our life and experience the resurrected Christ.

But we need to have this understanding at the back of our mind that we are standing on victorious grounds in Jesus. We need to abide in Him to bear fruit and to fight the good fight of faith. If we don’t abide in Him, all the sermons, bible studies and fellowships that we attend is pointless.

To abide in Him means His words and His life flows through us.

In John 15: 2 – 6. In verse 3 it says that they are made clean with the words that He has spoken to them. Which means their consciousness is made clean since He has shown them the way, the truth and the life. But they will be able to bear fruit only if they abide in Him says verse 4.

Which means, how much ever sermons you hear, how much ever bible studies you attend or how much ever Bible you read if you don’t abide in Him, you will not bear fruit.

And verse 6 says those who don’t abide in Him are cast out and thrown into the fire. And verse 2 says every branch in Jesus that does not bear fruit, the Father takes away.

But every branch that does bear fruit, the Father prunes that it may bear more fruit. This pruning involves disciplining, trials and teaching us in our Christian walk of life on how to live the life He has called us.

In the book of Genesis 3: 15 God tells the devil directly “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” This means that Jesus who defeated the enemy for good by dying on the cross and being raised from death has crushed the head of our enemy even after the defeated devil bruised His heels.

Bruised heels in scripture mean any injuries that have come to us by the evil one. Will tell you some examples: harsh words, fear, shame, lies that the defeated devil whispers into our minds, deception, circumstances that cause heartache or grief, abandonment, insecurity, abuse, addiction, sickness any wound meant to harm us is a ‘bruised heel ‘. And just like the defeated
devil bruised Jesus heels on the cross our spiritual enemy will also bruise ours.

The defeated devil wants to trip us and steer us off the course. He wants us to go backwards and get stuck in shame, bondage and guilt. And all that is attached to our sins.

The good news is Jesus will heal our bruises ( Isaiah 53:5 ) and remind us that God will use for good anything that the devil meant for harm( Genesis 50:20), provided we abide in the resurrected Jesus!

In Romans 8: 28 it says “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” In Christ,we are growing, not shrinking back.

So basically when we accept the resurrected Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the defeated devil can no longer have our souls. The poison of the snake- it is killing power- lies in its head.

Through Jesus perfect sacrifice and resurrection He crushed the head of the defeated devil, removing his power over our lives. When we acknowledge who God is and surrender our lives to Him, the defeated devil is unable to touch our souls for eternity, which makes him furious. To add up to that, the defeated devil knows he does not have much time. And his end is coming very soon (Revelation 12:12)

The defeated devil’s goal is to kill, steal and destroy( John 10:10) our physical life because he knows our spiritual life he cannot touch. If he tries to attack our physical life, he knows our spiritual life can get affected. Because we fail to apply the word appropriately in our situations.

The defeated devil cannot affect our spiritual life directly, which now belongs to Jesus and it is secure in Him.

Through Jesus, we have the power to crush the defeated devils head in our own lives too through His Spirit and through His Word.

In Luke 10: 19 it says “ Behold I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall byany means hurt you.

So live and experience the resurrected life in Jesus on victory grounds for our Lord has overcome the world for us.

Praise God!
