God called us to live a holy life

God called us to live a holy life

 1 Peter 1:15-16, 1Peter 2:9 Gal 2 :20 Romans 12:1-2

We are called to live a holy life because of where He has rescued us from into His marvellous light.

We are called to live as living sacrifices and this is present continuous so it’s every day.

Remember God doesn’t call us to live this life without giving us the opportunity or the ability to live right. He already gave us the ability to enter into His presence freely to receive forgiveness as his children.

Let’s remember we are a temple of God and He resides in us by God’s Spirit. 1 Cor 3:16

There are two places in the Bible were God resides directly with humans; there was the garden of Eden and also now in us who are the temples of the Holy Spirit. In Genesis 3, People sinned and the glory of God departed from them and so we should also be careful not to take His sacrifice lightly.

Hebrews 10:26

Also if we are living willfully in sin, it’s not necessary to come to the table for holy communion because some people fall sick and die if they partake of the body in an unworthy manner.

1 Cor 11:28-30

It’s usually the three things of the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life that keep us playing with sin. 1 John 2:16 We need to flee from them.

In John 17:14-17, Jesus prays for us His church and prays that God will uphold us. We don’t need to be taken away from the world but we can be upheld by God in this world itself if we yield to Him and His ways.

God is asking us to come back with our hearts repented and living for His glory. How can we hope to be the light of the world if we can’t live this life which he has called us to do?

Matthew 5:14 , Romans 8:35

As a father, he knows all our hearts so there is no pretence before Him. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Oh, how He loves us!

Praise the Lord!

 Father, forgive them!

Lk.23:34, ‘Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”And they divided His garments and cast lots.’  Christianity stands on this cornerstone of forgiveness. Had Jesus not prayed this prayer on the cross, the story would be different. It’s amazing that the only reason we have to say for the great hope of […]

The Jews were expecting a different kind of King born in a palace but Here was Jesus who was born from a lowly background and was therefore denied by them. Pilate and the Romans had no fault with Jesus but because of the pressure to keep his position with the people, he took a decision against him.

Did you notice that Jesus’ life could not be faulted by anyone in any way? This is the same way we should let our lives shine in a holy manner before God and before Men.In this place, Pilate sins by sentencing an innocent man because of wanting to keep a world position!

There are 3 scenes in this portion of scripture and 2 of them are based on people and one is about a place.

There are times when life is overwhelming, when all we have is questions. In those moments, hope can feel far away. The great thing about prayer is that it shifts our perspective toward the One who stands ready to listen. No matter what you’re facing, we’d love to pray with you!
